How much does it cost to get a DED Inc. rig/crew?
Our rigs and crews go out on an hourly rate basis. The cost to complete depends on a variety of factors such as the drilling method and drilling location. To obtain a current DED Inc. rate sheet or obtain a drilling quote for your next drilling program, please fill our on-line quote sheet.
How deep can you drill with a Geoprobe?
All drilling equipment has its limitations. Whether it be accessibility to a drilling location or the drilling conditions in the ground. Geoprobes offer a variety of tooling to get through most subsurface unconsolidated materials (i.e. sands, gravels, cobbles, clays, silts, etc.) The drilling limitation depends on the density of the materials encountered. The denser the materials, the more time it will require to obtain samples and install test wells. Groundwater samples have been obtained over 300’ using 1.5” probing roads and over 100’ using 2.25” probing rods for soil samples. Two inch monitoring wells have been installed to 70’ using 4.25” (ID) HSA and even deeper using 6” (OD) SSA.
Do you organize utility clearances?
We generally do not organize utility clearances. To ensure that all utilities are clearly defined, it sometimes requires a representative to visit the drilling location prior to the actual drilling to identify all borehole and monitoring well locations. Therefore, it is best that the contractor organize the utility clearance because they are the ones who have the most understanding of the work needing to be completed. For all of our drilling programs that we are subcontracted to complete we require that all of Ontario One Locates and all Private Locates are completed no matter where the drilling program is being completed.
